21-year-old Mother Stabs Her New Born Moments after Delivery

(AP) – A 21-year-old Georgia woman was arrested Thursday after police say she stabbed to death her infant son just hours after giving birth to him.

According to officials, the mother, Cassandra Elyse Norwood, delivered the baby in secret and without any assistance in the Athens home where she lived with her parents and other relatives.

Norwood was taken to a hospital to be treated for delivery-related blood loss where she remained under guard before being transported to Clarke County Jail Friday morning.

Athens-Clarke police told the Athens Banner-Herald the 21-year-old was alone in one part of the house on Great Oak Drive when she gave birth Thursday afternoon.



At around 1pm, police received a 911 call from someone who had found the baby’s lifeless body inside the residence in the Waverly Woods subdivision.

First responders who arrived on the scene discovered the slain infant. Shortly after, Norwood was taken into custody and charged with murder before being sent to Athens Regional Medical Center.

Police would not speculate about the motive behind the deadly stabbing, only saying that Norwood did not require psychiatric care while at the hospital. Norwood’s Facebook page says the 21-year-old, who has three siblings, graduated from Cedar Shoals High School in 2009. She also listed marketing at Athens Technical College under the education classification.

Mother Bath`s Daughter with Acid and tells BBC it was her Destiny to Die

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—A Pakistani mother who killed her teenage daughter by dousing her with acid for looking at a boy has told the BBC it was the girl’s destiny to die in this way.

Police in Pakistan-administered Kashmir arrested Mohammad Zafar and his wife, Zaheen, for the October 29 attack on their daughter Anusha, 15, who died in hospital two days later after suffering horrific acid burns.

So-called “honor” attacks are common in deeply conservative Pakistan. Rights activists say more than 900 women were murdered last year after being accused of bringing shame on the family in some way.

Speaking from their police cells, the father told the BBC they had warned Anusha before about looking at boys, while the mother described how her daughter had begged for forgiveness.

“She said, ‘I didn’t do it on purpose, I won’t do it again,” the mother, whose own arm bore an injury from the acid, told the BBC.

“By then I had thrown the acid. It was her destiny to die this way.”

The parents waited two days to take Anusha to hospital. A doctor told AFP the teenager arrived in a “very critical condition” with almost 70 percent burns.

Man from hell axes 3 Children, rapes mum and stabs aunt

 In a four-hour horrific moment, a Kezi man axed his uncle's three children to death, raped their mother and a neighbour. He went on to stab his aunt and left her for dead before torching six huts at his father's homestead.

The man, identified by relatives as Ndodana Ncube (38), committed the bizarre crimes on Monday night in the adjacent villages of Msetshana and Silawa, about 28km east of Maphisa Growth Point.
A policeman who was stunned by the brutal nature of the crime called Ncube "the son of Satan" while his grandfather said he was Lucifer himself. Two women that Ncube kidnapped reportedly said he cursed daylight, saying it was denying him a chance to kill more people as he preferred "working" under the cover of darkness.

Although villagers said they did not know what caused Ncube to go haywire, police said it was a dispute with his uncle over wages for a menial job.
Ncube's aunt, Mrs Mavis Ngwenya (40) said the children that Ncube killed were Khulekani, a boy aged five, and his sisters, Sithandekile (8) and Mbhekeni Zondo (3).
Mrs Sehlulekile Ngwenya (30), a neighbour who spoke to the victims narrated the hair-raising ordeal to Chronicle at Msetshana Village yesterday afternoon.
"Ncube left his uncle at Maphisa business centre and went to his homestead towards midnight. He knocked on the door and told his uncle's wife that his uncle had sent him with a message," said Mrs Ngwenya.
She said when his uncle's wife opened the door, he kicked the door and ordered her to stop breastfeeding her 18-month old baby.

"He ordered her to strip naked and when she refused, he threatened her with an axe that he was carrying. He then demanded a piece of paper to roll a cigarette. After smoking, he saw that his uncle's wife had dressed up. He forced her to strip and raped her again," said Mrs Ngwenya. She said Ncube then raped her while her children watched.
She said Ncube then ordered her to dress up and force-marched her to a neighbour's homestead. Mrs Ngwenya said Ncube kidnapped the neighbour's wife and forced the two women to run in front of him, going back to his uncle's homestead.
"When he got there, he said he wanted to fix his uncle's wife. He took the axe and struck the five-year-old boy in the neck. He pulled it out and struck the three-year-old girl in the head and the axe got stuck again. He retrieved it and hit the eight-year-old in the head, the child stirred and he struck her once more. The three-year-old's twin sister survived because she was hidden by a blanket that was hanging from the bed," said Mrs Ngwenya.

A neighbour who was part of the group that finally hunted Ncube down, said Ncube then forced the two women to run in front of him to his aunt's house, whom he said he also wanted to kill.
"He made them knock on the door and when his aunt, Ms Rebbeca Ndlovu, opened the door, he showed her the axe and said he was going to kill her because she was a witch. He hit her in the jaw with the axe. She fell down and he produced a pair of scissors and stabbed her in the neck, leaving her for dead," said the neighbour.
Mrs Ngwenya said Ncube then forced the women to his father's homestead at Silawa.
"Apparently, he had not satisfied his lust for killing. He set fire to six huts and four children were sleeping in two of them. Ndodana got angry when one of the children, a girl in Form Four, broke down the door of her hut and rescued her siblings in another burning hut. He chased after them with the axe but failed to catch them," she said.
Mrs Ngwenya said Ncube led the women to his grandfather's homestead where he said he had "some more people to kill".

"He saw some lights at the homestead and changed direction. He said he was angry that daylight was fast approaching. He took the women to a thicket, where he raped the neighbour's wife twice," said Mrs Ngwenya.
She said Ncube then demanded money from the women and was given $40 by the neighbour's wife. A group of men who started hunting for Ncube in the morning after the news of his gruesome exploits spread, found him sleeping on a hill. They reportedly severely assaulted him before handing him over to the police.
"Ncube was admitted to Maphisa District Hospital with his aunt, but he was later released into police custody," said a neighbour.

When our newscrew visited the area, villagers were gathered at the homestead of Ncube's uncle. Pools of congealed dark blood were still in the room where the children were killed. Their parents had gone to Maphisa business centre to make burial arrangements. Ncube's grandfather, Mr Joye Moyo (88), who is also the Msetshana village head, said he wished the people who found Ncube had killed him.
"I survived because he thought I was awake. That boy is the devil. I have never seen such cruelty. I hope he will die," said Mr Moyo.
Acting police spokesperson for Matabeleland South Province Sergeant Loveness Mangena, confirmed the incident and arrest of Ncube. She said he was facing murder, attempted murder, robbery, rape and malicious damage to property charges.
"On Sunday night at around 10pm his uncle engaged Ncube to load and offload gold ore at their stamp mill for a fee of R100. The two later helped each other to offload the gold ore and continued until the following day when they started milling the ore at around 5pm. During the course of the work, Ncube then demanded that he be paid more than R5 000 for the job," she said.
Sgt Mangena said investigations were still in progress and Ncube will appear in court soon.

13 Die as Lightening Strikes Mosque

DHAKA - At least 13 Muslim worshipers were killed and 15 hurt when lightning struck a mosque in a remote village in northeast Bangladesh as they held special Ramadan prayers, police said on Saturday. The imam was among those instantly killed when a lightning bolt hit the tin-and-thatch building at Saraswatipur village, about 200 kilometres (125 miles) from the capital Dhaka, late on Friday. The lightning appeared to “electrify” the mosque after hitting a rooftop microphone being run on power from a car battery, local council member Abul Kalam told AFP by telephone. 
About 35 people from the village in the lake district of Sunamganj were holding prayers known as taraweeh - offered during the holy fasting month of Ramadan - at the time, police chief Bayes Alam said. “All 13, including the imam, died on the spot. The bodies and faces of some of the victims were burnt,” Alam told AFP, adding six of the injured were hospitalised. Locals had turned the flimsy structure into a mosque because access to the village’s more substantial concrete-roofed mosque had been made difficult due to recent heavy rains that have swollen the Saraswati river. Villagers rushed to help after hearing cries, Kalam said. “It was a terrible scene. Dozens were lying on the floor - some dead, others writhing in pain,” he said, adding most of the victims were young men in their 20s and 3Os. “We took the injured in three boats and headed to hospital in Dharmapasa”, the closest big town, he said. “But it took hours to get there,” he added. Lightning is a major threat in Sunamganj, home to some of Bangladesh’s biggest lakes. Most lightning strikes occur during the monsoon season between June and September when the district receives huge amounts of rainfall.

UK ATM Dispenses "Free Cash" To Users

Police were called to calm crowds that gathered after a cash machine started dispensing "free money".

The cash machine at the Nacton Road Lloyds TSB in Ipswich began issuing twice the requested amount at about 8pm on Thursday.

Arguments broke out among those trying to use the faulty machine and police were called to keep watch until staff could put the problem right.

It is thought about 30 people benefited from the fault - and it is unlikely the bank will be able to trace them to reclaim the money.

Emma Hutchinson, from Ipswich, told the Ipswich Star: "Word got around pretty quickly. My friend asked for £40 and the machine gave out £80."

She went to see if the rumour was true but decided not to withdraw any money herself.

A spokesman for Lloyds TSB said: "For a very short period of time, the ATM at Nacton Road was misdispensing cash whilst the branch was closed.

"The machine has been put out of service.

On the other hand Kamal Nawash, president of the Free Muslims Coalition, explains christian post as follows:

"While I am not a fan of Robertson, he cannot be blamed for his latest statement. He is merely preaching generally accepted Christian orthodoxy. Most religious leaders, of any faith, adopt the same rule as Robertson," said Nawash in an interview with The Christian Post.
Nawash explained that with Islamic practice there is some room allowed for interfaith marriages, but only between a Muslim and someone who is either Jewish or Christian. Further, most Muslims assume that only men can marry outside the religion.
"Textual Islam is unique among the Abrahamic faiths. It allows interfaith marriages and prohibits husbands from even asking their wives to convert to Islam," said Nawash.
"However, Muslims are not allowed to marry people outside of Christianity or Judaism. Meaning, Muslims cannot marry Hindus, Buddhists and the like. This is because Islam sees Christianity and Judaism as godly religions."

Halle Berry Falls on Movie set - and Rushed to Hospital

TMZ : UPDATE 6:45 AM PT -- Sources on the set tell TMZ ... after Halle fell, she started throwing up, and that's when people around her became alarmed and called for help. FYI, throwing up is a sign of a concussion.

UPDATE 5:40 AM PT -- A rep for Halle tells TMZ "Halle Berry suffered a minor head injury while shooting a fight sequence on the set of her film, 'The Hive.' She was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but she checked out healthy and was released. She'll continue production as planned."


Halle Berry was rushed to the hospital Tuesday night after suffering an injury while shooting a movie.

Sources tell TMZ ... Halle hit her head on concrete after taking a nasty fall.

According to a photo agency, Halle was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in L.A. We're told the injury occurred at around 10 PM. There was an ambulance on scene, and it appears that's how Halle was transported.

Halle was shooting the movie, "The Hive." You'll recall she suffered an ankle injury during another movie shoot in Spain.
