Chanel Couture Spring -Summer 2011

Chanel is a symbol of class and elegance, so this year's Couture show isn't an exception. I personally adore Parisian classic style which we can find not only in Chanel, but Hermes and Yves Saint Laurent as well. Karl Lagerfeld hasn't left out the classic Chanel jacket and skirt from this collection.

I'm really thrilled that Lagerfeld decided to bring a touch of glitter and fluttering to this collection. He used a lot of pearls and sequins. The colors are beautiful; white, grey, light pink, similar colors in those shades and of course black which extends across all creations.

Chanel went with an airy, light, simple look for dresses. I guess Chanel Couture S/S 2011 woman will be girly and shiny, but still classy. But I have to admit the shoes didn't impress me at all. Lagerfeld picked flats witch he kept mostly in one color- black. What do you think guys?

Can't wait for the next Chanel show which, I'm sure, won't be a disappointment. Stay classy and fabulous like our favorite fashion icon Coco Chanel had said.

Our trend for 2011

In the break between fashion shows, we can conclude that must haves for this year are airy dresses in every color and shape that works for your body type. All designers from Marc Jacobs, and Francesco Scognamiglio to Valentino have included airy dresses in their collections. Colorful prints are fluttering for skinny girls but make sure that you don't over do it. A little bit bigger girls should stick to one color dresses but you can always accessorize it with statement shoes and bags. Short girls should choose a dress with V-neck to create the illusion of a longer silhouette. You need to select dresses of monotone fabrics (like black, grey, olive, brown, purple) and , of course, wear high heels, and avoid horizontal stripes and large patterns......

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER Haute Couture 2011

I love this collection. This is like COCO gone wild. She had been living a luxurious life in France, then went to Spain where she worked as a cabaret dancer in suspicious clubs, but all the time she looked fabulous. Not to mention that she got married several times wearing beautiful gowns. The collection is based on gothic dark colors with a pop of colorful fabrics. I liked most of the pieces but I think it lacked some kind of connection between them to make this collection look like a collection. I also loved that different fabrics were used like tulle, feathers, lace, strass and leather. Below you can see the models I chose for you..........
