NIGERIAN FEMALE PASTOR GETS CHARGED WITH VISA FRAUD

A female pastor with one of Nigeria's leading Pentecostal churches, Felicia Ngozi Onuoha, has been arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrate's court on a 10-count charge of impersonation and fraud among others.

She was alleged to have received money from Chukwuma Nnamdi, Patience Damatie and Dike Jude in order to help them procure visas to Belarus, France and India but gave out fake visas to them.

Felicia, who was alleged to have committed the criminal acts between March 2011 and May 2012 also claimed to be a Deputy Superintendent of the Nigerian Immigration Services while trying to convince her clients to part with their money.

One of the people she allegedly duped (who wouldn't want his name mentioned) told P.M.NEWS that: "Sometime in November last year, I wanted to go to Europe so someone introduced me to her as a minister of God who could help me get a visa to Europe and I went to meet her . She promised to help me procure a visa to Belarus and she charged me N530,000. I paid N400,000 almost immediately and she assured me that the processing was not going to exceed three weeks.

"Within two weeks, I was told that the visa was ready and then, I took the balance of N103,000 to her. She delayed me for several weeks before eventually giving me the visa to Belarus. I travelled to Belarus on December 25, 2011 and wasn't allowed into the country because the Customs officers there said I was in possession of a fake visa. Subsequently, I was taken to Istanbul in Turkey where I passed the night and got back to Nigeria on December 27, 2011. I went to meet her the next day and she had since asked me to forget the incident, promising that she would help me go to France instead and since then she had been deceiving me until I had to get the police involved.

"The major reason all these happened to me was that I was made to believe that she was a minister of God with a big church in Grammar School, Ikorodu."

P.M.NEWS correspondent made efforts to speak with the alleged fraudster but she was reluctant to give any information as she'd rather wait for her lawyer.

In his own submission, Felicia's lawyer explained to P.M.NEWS that "she had been living outside the country for sometime and was contacted to help people procure visas which she did effectively because the people actually travelled out but the real reason they were sent back is what we don't know.

"Maybe they did not have genuine reasons for travelling and were stopped at the airport, I can't say but instead of coming back to meet my client, they went straight to the police. If she had given them fake visas they wouldn't have travelled in the first place," he opined.

The Magistrate granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties.

FAIL: Eddie Murphy Death Story is Unreal

On Sunday evening I received a chilling question from a friend asking me if Eddie murphy was dead, not knowing what to say because I was just hearing it for the first time I quickly checked it up and all I could find was one obviously hoaxed story about him been involved in a snow board accident in Zermatt Switzerland.

According to fake story on mediafetcher.com the actor died immediately after hitting a tree when he lost control of his snow board which he was driving at a very high speed. It was said that he was airlifted to a hospital, although he died on the spot where he hit the tree.

Please be reminded that this story is untrue and has not been verified, I'm hereby stating that until proven otherwise Eddie murphy is not dead. The story is false.

A little Sunday Sermon -- "The Words I Speak"

'A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life. A gracious word may soothe the way, a joyous word may light the day. A timely word may lessen stress, a loving word may heal and bless.'

So today let your words be faith-building, for people battle with doubt and fear. Let your words be comforting, for people have wounds you cannot see. Let your words be uplifting, for people get torn down by criticism and discouragement. Let your words be calming, for God has promised to bless you if you are a peacemaker. And let your words be character-building; that way you'll leave people better off than you found them.

Boko Haram Leader Gets Beef with Obama

Abubakar Shekau, the man suspected to be the leader of Nigeria's terrorist group, Boko Haram has criticised US President Barack Obama in an online video on Saturday over Washington's decision to label him a "global terrorist".

The AFP reports that it was unclear when the video was made, but it marked the first time Abubakar Shekau publicly addressed the terrorist designation slapped on him by the United States in June.

The clip, more than 38 minutes long, could not be independently verified as authentic, but it was similar to previous videos of Shekau.

"You said I'm a global terrorist, then you are a terrorist in the next world," Shekau said in the Hausa language in the video posted on YouTube while speaking of Obama.

Earlier in the video, Shekau says, "I call on you (Nigerian President Goodluck) Jonathan, you should abandon this ungodly power, you should repent and forsake Christianity, including Obama, who said I have business interests in the United States."

Speaking in a sarcastic tone, an AK-47 leaning against the wall next to him, he also says, "I know the United States exists, but I don't know which part of the world it is located in, whether in the west or the north, the south or the east.

"I don't know where it is, not to talk of freezing my assets there."

His comments were a reference to the terrorist designation given to him and two other Nigerians which allows US authorities to seize their assets in the United States.

In June, the US State Department announced the designations for Shekau as well as Abubakar Adam Kambar and Khalid al-Barnawi. Kambar and Barnawi were said to be linked to Boko Haram and Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, Al-Qaeda's north African branch.

Boko Haram has carried out scores of attacks in Nigeria that have left hundreds dead as part of an increasingly deadly insurgency.

Members of the group are believed to have received training from Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb in northern Mali, and Western countries have been watching closely for signs of further cooperation.

Some US lawmakers have been pushing Obama's administration to label Boko Haram as a whole a terrorist organisation, but American diplomats have stressed that the group remains domestically focused.

They also say deep poverty and a lack of infrastructure in Nigeria's north must be addressed as part of the solution to the violence.

Boko Haram, which means "Western education is sin" in the Hausa language spoken in northern Nigeria, is believed to include a number of factions with differing aims. Shekau is thought to lead the main radical Islamist branch.

After a 2009 uprising that led to nearly a week of fighting, ending with a military assault which left some 800 people dead, the group went dormant for more than a year.

It re-emerged in 2010 with a series of assassinations. Bomb blasts, including suicide attacks, have since become frequent.

Its attacks have been focused in Nigeria's mainly Muslim north and Abuja, the capital.

Little is known about Shekau, though he has appeared in previous YouTube clips a number of times to denounce the Nigerian government and Western influence as well as threaten further attacks.

He was seen as the second-in-command of Boko Haram at the time of the 2009 uprising.

The leader at the time, Mohammed Yusuf, was captured by soldiers and handed over to police. He was later killed when police claimed he was trying to escape, though rights groups have called it a summary execution.

Many have said dialogue is key to ending the unrest in Nigeria. Shekau made vague comments regarding talks in Saturday's video, at one point seeming to suggest they were possible, but appearing to rule it out later.
